Don’t let that fool you into thinking the frunk is a simple or archaic feature, however.
This compartment can also be accessed via your key fob or the vehicle’s SecuriCode Keyless Entry keypad. There’s a dashboard button below the headlight knob that lets you pop the frunk open, and you can also use your center console touchscreen, the FordPass app on your phone, which can remotely lock or unlock the frunk as well. There’s even a manual service release inside the footwell, so no matter where you are in or around your truck and what you have in your hands, you’ll have some way to quickly and easily get into the frunk and access your belongings!
Unstoppably Functional
So, what can you do with a Ford Power Frunk? Just about anything you can think of. Depending on the trim level of your F-150 Lightning, this compartment is designed to carry up to 400 lbs of equipment, tools, boxes, jobsite materials, luggage, or whatever other odds and ends you might want to take on the road with you. That’s a lot of space, 14.1 ft3 in total, more than any other all-electric pickup. There’s room in the Ford frunk for two full sets of golf clubs or eight 50 lb bags of concrete, so whatever you have on your schedule, the frunk will be ready for action.
The interior of the space is rubberized and durable to allow it to take extra punishment, and you can even make use of the built-in drain hole to fill the frunk with ice and use it as a cooler for a party, tailgate, or other outdoor activity. The opening height of the hood is adjustable, allowing you to continue to use the frunk in spaces with low ceilings, and with plenty of available accessories like cargo nets, cargo hooks, D-rings and more, you’ll have the room and supplies you need to keep your stuff safe and secured, no matter where the road takes you!
Electrifying Features
The F-150 Lightning is electrified and powerful from its grille to its taillights, and the frunk is no exception to that rule. There’s power packed in here, too, giving you even more functionality and flexibility to work hard, play hard, and explore wherever you like with ease. Four Pro Power Onboard 120V outlets are installed inside the frunk, giving you easily accessible power to charge batteries, supply energy to power tools, plug in appliances or equipment that you want to use outdoors and more. Drills and saws, hot plates and mini-fridges, laptops and tablets, the possibilities are endless! There are also two USB outlets inside, letting you do everything from charging a smartphone to blasting a portable speaker.
